Helane Becker Helane Becker is a Managing Director covering the Transportation Industry for Jesup & Lamont focusing on airlines, air freight and freight forwarding. Ms. Becker has more than 25 years of experience in the financial industry holding positions within research, trading, and investment banking departments. Prior to joining Jesup & Lamont, Helane was Managing Director at CapStone Investments raising capital for small to mid cap companies. She also previously held positions at Smith Barney, Lehman Brothers and several other broker dealers as Senior Transportation Analyst. Ms. Becker was ranked 1, 2, or 3 from 1985 to 1993 by Institutional Investor magazine. Ms. Becker was also ranked in the top 5 by the Wall Street Journal in 1992, 1993, 1997, 2001 and 2002 as one of the best analysts on the street. Helane holds a BA from Montclair State University and a MBA from New York University. She is a member of several organizations including Who’s Who Among Women in Business and is a former President of The Society of Airline Analysts. Helane holds the following series registration licenses: Series 7, 63, 86, and 87.
Timothy C. Petrycki Tim Petrycki is a Special Situations analyst for Jesup & Lamont covering small and midcap securities. Tim has almost 10 years of equity research experience as both a buy and sell-side analyst. Prior to joining Jesup & Lamont in January 2009, Tim was a partner and senior analyst with Gimmel Partners, a hedge fund focusing on small and mid-cap investments. Previously, Tim spent 5 years as a research associate with Fulcrum Global Partners and a member of the Special Situations and Healthcare Services teams. Tim holds a BSBA from the University of Denver and the only undergraduate student selected into the Marsico Investment Program. He also holds the following licenses: 7, 63, 86 and 87.
James P. Ruskin Senior Vice President Mr. Ruskin is a Senior Vice President covering the Industrial Sector for Jesup & Lamont focusing on electrical equipment, multi-industrials and mining. Mr. Ruskin has more than 20 years experience in equity analysis and portfolio management. Prior to Jesup & Lamont, Jim worked as a Portfolio Manager and Senior Managing Analyst at investment firms such as The Dreyfus Corporation, Avenue Capital Group and most recently at BNP Paribas. Jim holds a BA degree in Biology from Manhattanville College. In addition, Mr. Ruskin holds the following FINRA registrations: Series 7, 63, 86, 87 and 55.
Barbara Wyckoff Senior Vice President Barbara Wyckoff joined Jesup & Lamont in September 2009 as a Specialty Retail analyst. Prior to J&L, Ms. Wyckoff was a Senior VP and Sell Side analyst following specialty retail in women's apparel, teen and accessories from 1999 to 2009 at Buckingham Research Group, an independent, institutional research boutique. Ms. Wyckoff came to Buckingham in 1999 with 20+ years of retail and wholesale experience with industry leaders Macy's, Saks Fifth Avenue, Liz Claiborne and Diane Von Furstenberg. This industry experience helps to differentiate Ms. Wyckoff from other sell side retail analysts who typically come to Wall Street straight from business school. Ms. Wyckoff combines first hand industry knowledge with her strong forecasting ability to make value added calls on specialty retailers. Ms. Wyckoff received her MBA from Northern Arizona University and her BS in Advertising from Arizona State University.
Ching-Yi Lin Vice President Ching-Yi Lin is a research analyst covering biotechnology/pharmaceutical companies She has a background in various areas, including finance and technology/life science. She has worked in macroeconomics and advisory in corporate finance at Millennium Partners, Wachovia Securities and Credit Suisse, respectively. Ching-Yi is also an inventor and developer of technology, including medical devices, and has been awarded patents in various areas of technology by the US Patent and Trademark Office. Additionally, she has worked in research labs at Indiana University Medical Center and University of Cincinnati, been an advisor to venture capital firms in life sciences and taught chemistry. Ching-Yi graduated with two undergraduate degrees from Indiana University: B.S. in Biology/Honors Program and B.A. in Economics with the equivalent of minors in Chemistry and Journalism. She has an MBA from Columbia Business School where she graduated Beta Gamma Sigma (Honors), as well as a Master’s focusing in Finance from London Business School.
